Johannes Grune is a Furniture and Interior Designer born and based in Berlin. Having first trained and worked as master carpenter, he later studied product design at the Berlin Weißensee Academy of Arts and furniture design at the Royal Danish School of Architecture Copenhagen, therefore his skillset comprises both craftsmanship and design. After graduating in 2012 with a project in cooperation with the german company Wilkhahn, Johannes Grune was employed as an Interior Designer at JBW Interiors and managed various residential high end projects for Ralf Schmitz in Berlin as well as designed an exclusive retail space for JBW Lights. Since 2014 he has been setting up his own studio and prototyping workshop in Berlin and collaborated with other offices like Roomservice Gallery Hamburg for E.ventures headquarter in Berlin or Helmut Staubach Design for a collection of 14 Ming-inspired furniture prototypes. Most recently he co-founded the Berlin based furniture brand OSW. that combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, in order to produce high quality pieces of furniture, sustainably – designed in Berlin and made in Germany. Johannes Grune works on furniture, product, interior and exhibition design projects and provides concept, design, planning, manufacturing and prototyping.
